Dear Arlene, I used to own the Arcadia Ballroom in Montrose Colorado and knew your grandmother Stella. last time i saw you it was at the Elks Lodge in Telluride new years eve some time in the 80's. Wow you have come a long way and your poetry is just wonderful. gongratulations on your life and thank you for all that you have contributed to the world through your music and just for being you. the name Gidget Baird popped into my head tonight when i got online and i thought of Stella and what fun time we had back then. Hello! Arlene, your music is truly beautiful and very touching. I love all of the recordings I have heard by you - the contemporary, the Celtic, the country... everything! I will be ordering River of Dreams soon, but I have to tell you, that's just not enough! I haven't seen you in person since the early 1990's, when you played a little bar in Englewood, Colorado (actually, that's the only time I've ever met you, or seen you in person!). Brenda Hill and I were there and it was one of the most lively, fun, dance-your-fanny-off shows I've ever attended. The country music world had a true gem of a performer when you were on stage burnin' down the walls with that amazing fiddle of yours! It was such a good time. Now, I've said all that to say all this: I've been watchin' the way you been watchin' my miss (Oops, sorry that's a line from U.S. Male by Jerry Lee Lewis, re-done with amazing flair by Elvis!). What I'm tryin' to say is - we want you back! We want to see you live! If that isn't feasible, or if that just isn't your focus at this time, how 'bout the next best thing? An Arlene Faith or a Gidget Baird DVD? Perhaps there is some footage in ye olde archives, just dying to preserved on a DVD? Anything at all? Maybe a studio video or two you did somewhere along the way, in one of the many wonderful expressions of your lovely self and your spectacular band? Or some long lost live footage? I have been in music business since 1992 when I started attending Sarajevo Music School. My voice is lyric tenor. In 1996 I have started with interpretation of POP, R&B, SOUL, LATIN, and POP-DANCE MUSIC. I had my first professional engagement in 1997 as a front man of boys' band called "7 UP". In the period from 1998 thru 2001 it was the most popular boys' band in the Balkans. In that period we recorded two CDs, "OTVORI OCI" ("Open Your Eyes") and "SEVEN". My wish for more intensive work resulted in independent work. I recorded a solo album named "JA SAM VJETAR ZALJUBLJENI" ("I Am a Wind in Love"), which was published in April, 2002.
